William Orr is a mandatory uniform policy school
We expect that all students follow this policy. Our uniform is as follows:
Top: Plain, collared shirt (white, light blue, dark blue, red, or yellow)
Bottoms: dark blue pants, shorts, or skirt or dark jeans
Monthly spirit days have been scheduled to allow for non-uniform days and to promote school spirit.
William Orr on the Spot
2015-2016 has been a very special year for us at William Orr. It is such an honor to be named a 2016 Gold Ribbon School. Not only have we been recognized with this distinction, but we have also been named a 2016 Title I Academic Achievement Award School and a Campaign for Business and Education Excellence Honor Roll School for the 4th consecutive year. Congratulations to our students and staff!
The Gold Ribbon Award is given to schools that have made tremendous gains in implementing State Board policies and their Local Control Accountability Plans. Each school had to describe a model program or practice that set them apart from other schools and helped all students to be successful. We are very proud to be one of 772 California Schools to receive this prestigious award!
Title I Academic Achievement Award School is a distinction given only to schools receiving federal Title I funds that aid in meeting the educational needs of students living at or below the poverty level. Because we receive these funds and also were recognized as a Gold Ribbon School, we were honored in this capacity as well.
CBEE recognizes public elementary, middle, and high schools that demonstrate consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. This is Orr’s fifth time receiving this honor!
There is so much that goes in to making William Orr great, from our teachers, to our students, to our parents; we are ALL part of the William Orr team and together we have been recognized with all of these distinctions. I couldn’t be more proud of the work we have done. Congratulations to all of you!

As we all know, school attendance matters in the education of our children. When your child misses school, he/she is missing out on important instruction designed to help him/her meet grade level standards.
With this in mind, William Orr has an attendance goal for the year. Last year, our average daily attendance (ADA) rate for the year was 96.5%. This year we have pledged to increase our attendance to 97%. You can help us reach this goal by making sure your child attends school regularly and arrives on time. If you any concerns or suggestions regarding attendance, please feel free to contact the school office.
